RoadBoy app FAQ
Short answers on availability, tours, delivery mode, offline use, voice messages, permissions, and profile settings – based on the driver app for iOS and Android (including light, dark, and system theme).
Questions & answers
How do I enter my availability in the app?
Open the availability overview and create a new entry: date, start and end time, status (e.g. available), and optional notes. You can enable daily or weekly repeats. When saving, overlaps with existing entries are detected; conflicting days are skipped and you get a short summary of how many entries were created.
How do I edit or delete availability?
On the home screen you see your availabilities in a list. Switch between “Upcoming” (from today) and “All” (including up to 12 months back). Open an entry to change times, status, and notes, or remove it.
Where do I see newly assigned tours or shifts?
Assigned tours appear in the assigned shifts/tours overview. If push notifications are allowed on your device and enabled in your profile, you can also be alerted when something new is assigned.
What does the tour detail screen show?
Tour details show the information your dispatcher provides for that shift – for example time window, route, stops, and related notes. From there you can enter delivery mode or the map view.
How does delivery mode (stop by stop) work?
In delivery mode you work through stops in the defined order. For each stop you see delivery information, a description of the drop-off point, and optionally a photo. Navigation can open directions to the exact GPS coordinates. Status updates sync with the backend when a connection is available.
How do I record voice messages for a stop?
Each stop has a messages area where you can record a voice note. The microphone is required (iOS shows an explanatory permission text). The recording is uploaded or, if you are offline, queued and sent automatically when you are back online.
Does RoadBoy work without mobile coverage?
Yes. The app tracks connectivity and can queue status updates and voice messages offline. When the connection returns, pending items are flushed and synced.
Why does the app need location, microphone, and camera/photos?
Location is used for navigation and the delivery workflow. The microphone is used for voice messages. Camera and photo library are used for profile photos and, depending on your process, for documentation photos (see also the system permission texts on your device). Before some location prompts, an explanatory dialog may appear first.
How do maps and external navigation work?
The app includes a map view for the tour. For turn-by-turn directions it may open an external maps app, depending on your device and installed apps.
What do the working-time limits and profile settings mean?
In your profile you can manage display name, profile photo, maximum daily and weekly working time, and preferences. You can enable or disable email and push notifications separately, and choose light theme, dark theme, or follow the system setting. Which fields are editable may be limited by your organisation.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen use “Forgot password”. You will receive an email with a link to set a new password. If nothing arrives, check spam and the email address you entered.
I did not receive the verification email after sign-up – what should I do?
Use the resend verification email screen. Double-check typos in your address and spam/promotions folders. If it still fails, contact your administrator or support.
Can I turn off push and email notifications?
Yes. The profile has separate toggles for email and push notifications. You also manage OS-level notification permissions in your phone settings.
Where can I read privacy information and consent?
The app includes dedicated privacy and consent flows (e.g. on first launch). Full details are in the privacy policy on this website. RoadBoy is operated in a GDPR-compliant way; hosting and details are described there.
